ChatGPT is being integrated into the human brain. Synchron, a company developing BCI (Brain-Computer-Interface) technology to enable paralyzed patients to communicate through their thoughts, is now incorporating ChatGPT into its brain-implanted devices. The goal of this integration is to allow the BCI device, which interprets electrical signals generated by thoughts and converts them into sentences, to produce these sentences more quickly and accurately using artificial intelligence. This technology can be placed in the brain via a catheter without the need for open brain surgery. It has already begun human trials and could be a significant breakthrough in the healthcare industry.

The competition in the internet search engine market is heating up. Since the release of OpenAI's ChatGPT application, there has been frequent debate about whether it will replace Google and other search engines. OpenAI has now announced SearchGPT, a direct competitor to Google. Currently in the prototype stage, those who wish to try this application must join a waiting list. Meanwhile, Google continues to integrate the power of its AI solution, Gemini, into its search engine. Time will tell who the winner will be, but one thing is certain: competition is always beneficial for users. The battle for leadership and the quest to win users' hearts lead to more benefits and advantages for users.

Meta has burned $45 billion on metaverse investments to date. Under the leadership of Mark Zuckerberg, the company changed its name from Facebook to Meta with high hopes of focusing on the metaverse. The term "burned" is fitting, as many metaverse platforms that initially gained significant interest now resemble ghost towns. While some companies may have benefited greatly from this trend, the number of firms, including Meta, that have not seen a return on their metaverse investments is probably significantly higher.

According to an announcement by Copernicus, the European Union's climate change service, this past Sunday was the hottest day on record. On July 21, 2024, the average global temperature surpassed the previous record set on July 6, 2023, by 0.1 degrees, making it the hottest day ever recorded. The importance of measures to address global warming has increased even further. The technology sector has a significant role to play in this regard. Renewable energy, smart solutions for energy efficiency, low-emission vehicles in transportation, innovative approaches to eliminate environmentally harmful agricultural practices, blockchain solutions for efficiency and transparency in energy trading and carbon credits, innovative and eco-friendly waste management methods, and environmental education are just some of the necessary actions.

Microsoft has announced that the CrowdStrike incident has affected only 1% of Windows devices worldwide. This 1% translates to approximately 8.5 million devices. CrowdStrike’s recommended solution for the problem requires manual implementation on each computer. This means some systems need to be started in safe mode, and since there is no automatic fix, the global recovery process will take some time. This incident highlights how serious the consequences can be when software updates are released without sufficient quality control.

The recent discovery of a cave on the Moon has raised the question of whether it could provide a suitable environment for human colonization. On one side, there are dreams of living on the Moon, and on the other, dreams of life on Mars. Instead of worrying about which planet to settle on and how, wouldn't it be better if these enormous resources were used to find answers to how we can make our beautiful Earth more livable?

To ensure your security, restart your phone at least once a week. The National Security Agency (NSA) recommends this to protect your phone from malware. Additionally, keep your apps updated regularly, avoid downloading apps from unofficial app stores, use a VPN when connecting to public Wi-Fi networks, do not open email attachments from unknown senders, and update your passwords frequently. Stay safe!

Is Elon Musk going to donate sperm to support colonization on Mars? 😳 Following this news shared by the New York Times, Elon Musk stated on his social media account that he did not make such a statement. Even if the news were true, I wouldn't be surprised. As long as he's in the spotlight, anything can be expected from Elon Musk. 😁

Nicolas Cage has expressed his fear that AI will "steal" his body. In the film industry, the creation of digital models of actors is a hot topic. With the support of AI, movies featuring famous actors could be created on computers without the actors' physical presence. In the future, actors might earn money simply by selling the rights to use their faces and bodies in films. However, with AI advancing so rapidly, will there still be a need for actors? It’s an exciting development for the film industry but a frightening one for actors.

In today's world, where cyber attacks are increasingly prevalent, it is crucial to protect your accounts. Beyond creating a long and complex password, the most important measure you can take is to use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your accounts. This means enabling the 2FA security system, where you receive an additional login code via SMS or a dedicated app after entering your password. Make sure to do this for all your email, social media, cloud storage, e-commerce, password management, and corporate applications.

A drone delivering packages to Walmart customers was shot down by a firearm. Walmart and Amazon have been piloting drone delivery services in several U.S. states for some time. Despite being about 20 times more expensive than traditional shipping methods, these services are supported by rapidly decreasing costs and ongoing investments aimed at expanding their reach in the future. However, a recent incident where someone mistook a drone passing over their home for a surveillance device and shot it down has raised concerns about the security of these delivery methods and the potential legal consequences for those responsible.

A security vulnerability was discovered in the ChatGPT Mac application. Upon identifying that conversations were being stored on the computer without encryption, the company promptly released an update to address the issue. Cybersecurity is a crucial component of digital transformation processes. In an era where we entrust so much of our data and privacy to technology, the importance of conducting security risk analysis and implementing cybersecurity measures before launching applications cannot be overstated.

Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal and one of the early investors in Facebook, mentioned that he limits his children's screen time to 1.5 hours per week. This topic is one of the most frequently asked questions in my talks: "Should we limit the time our children spend on tablets, phones, or computers?" It's clear that technology has become more than just a tool in our professional and personal lives; it's now a new sense and means of communication, a muscle we must continually develop. It's essential for our children to acquire these skills at an early age, become native technology users, and even learn coding. Even if they don't become programmers, they need to learn the language of this new world. However, even in the age of technology, the keys to success—human relationships and emotional intelligence—develop through face-to-face communication, not screen time. While developing their technological muscles, we must not allow these vital human skills to weaken. The solution involves setting some limits, though perhaps not as strict as 1.5 hours per week.

Meta has been fined $13.4 billion by the European Commission. The reason for the fine is that Meta's "pay or consent" approach in its advertising practices does not comply with the European Commission's Digital Markets Act. Meta is now preparing its defense. The conflict between targeted advertising and personal data protection is one of the most debated topics in the marketing world. The European Commission is the most sensitive institution on this matter and takes decisive steps both in regulation and enforcement. As a marketing professional, I recognize the importance of personalized ads, but I believe that protecting personal data and privacy is even more crucial. Sometimes, the balance may tip towards extra caution, but this is inevitable in the process of finding the right equilibrium.
